Hi, Using a USB sound device is a grate way to ensure you have sound as early as possible in the install. It also works with many operating systems, the ones I have tended to go for are the c-media devices, because they just work out of the box, don't buy the Creative Labs ones as they try to do too much, and thus require further drivers.
