Does Narrator read anything? I think both JAWS and NVDA have places where you can select the default sound output device, I'd make sure that is set to default and if it is perhaps forcing the Soundblaster and seeing what happens. Everything went good so far until I started installing screen reader software. I have installed sound blaster sound card into the server, installed drivers and can hear windows sounds when working in desktop, but when screen reader software installed such JAWS or NVDA, there is no screen reader talking. Both screen readers installed but do not work with Sound blaster Audigy FX. Screen readers work with different portable USB sound card. Any ideas what am I missing? Audio service should be on as I hear desktop sounds no problem.
