Hi all, Like Andrew, I have a related degree. I have two Microsoft certifications. But there are so many qualifications available I think you really should read what a specific company requires. Many colleagues of mine don't have any certifications at all. If you have any question, please do ask. Vincent. -----Original Message----- From: blind-sysadmins-bounces@lists.hodgsonfamily.org [mailto:blind-sysadmins-bounces@lists.hodgsonfamily.org] On Behalf Of Andrew Hodgson Sent: zaterdag 23 februari 2008 23:38 To: Blind sysadmins list Subject: Re: [Blind-sysadmins] qualifications Hi, What qualifications do you need to be a sysadmin? The answer is depending on the company you work for and the amount you are willing to be paid. I did an IT related degree, but I have colleagues who have done other jobs and just started doing the work. I was asked to do the CCNA qualification last year, and it was an absolute disaster with the diagrams etc, and the fact the reader wasn't very good at reading them (which was not her fault, as she is not a network person), and so I kept running out of time on the exams. I am hoping to study the Microsoft courses, as I think they may have better describable diagrams, but I am not holding out hope for independent access to the testing environment, as I don't know of any testing company who allows this yet. Thanks. Andrew. -----Original Message----- From: blind-sysadmins-bounces@lists.hodgsonfamily.org [mailto:blind-sysadmins-bounces@lists.hodgsonfamily.org] On Behalf Of stuart young Sent: 23 February 2008 21:46 To: blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org Subject: [Blind-sysadmins] qualifications hi my name is stuart young and i am totaly blind what qualifications do you need to become a systems administrator? also i have bin reading the archives and i notest, that there was a post on remote desktop and how it was quite anoiing to use . there is a company called serotek who sell a product called remote access manager, which might be useful when manageing servers. http://www.serotek.com/enterprise.html hope this helps. -- Email services provided by the System Access Mobile Network.
