Hi, Just my 2cents on how I do things as well. I've found that even though I could make unattended installs, there weren't really switches to customise the install to the way I wanted i.e. for some installers I don't like it placing icons on the desktop as such. So, I've tried and I'm quite successful with another solution, where I install xp, install what ever I want, sysprep it, make an image of it using ghost, and then create an autorestore cd/dvd. Although, the disadvantage with the method I use is that, one must buy ghost. I've managed to restore my image I've created to different hardware and on different partitions as well. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ben Mustill-Rose" <bmustillrose@gmail.com> To: "Blind sysadmins list" <blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org> Sent: Saturday, April 09, 2011 3:49 AM Subject: Re: [Blind-sysadmins] security essentials installation unattended
Hey,
To save you asking about every app that you want to integrate, have you considdered just making a ninite installer for all of the aps you want? I know its not propper integration as in updating txtsetup.sif to extract extra cab files in the setup, but so long as you have ethernet drivers, you could just tell the installer to run once administrator has logged on.
Even if you don't have the machine connected to a network when its installing, it takes 30 seconds if that to run a single file which doesn't sound like much hardship in return for fully unattended installs which are always up to date.

Hello, Does anyone know if it's possible to do an unattended installation and update and configuration of security essentials? I'd like to get that working if possible.
Help appreciated. Thanks. Dave.
