There are some keyboard shortcuts for moving between messages and switching conversations. I've found that turning virtual mode off and treating it like its own application with somewhat unintuitive hotkeys works alright. Agreed that mobile is a better experience at least on iOS. Using the mobile app is probably the best way at the moment especially for notifications. The web interface works for me but I have to read conversations from the bottom up, as we pay for Slack where I work which gives a very long history. The other thing is that threads really cause me problems, so I don't use them, which annoys my co-workers.

The best advice I can provide is to be patient with it. It does work, For I know this because I've used this in the past, I never liked it very much. You'll get used to it, eventually. I find it using it on mobile makes things a lot easier.

Hi, A few weeks ago I asked about Skype for business and thank you to all those who responded, but there has now been a change and we are moving to Slack. My immediate thoughts about it is that although it is accessible, it is not very usable. There is a lot going on and too much clutter. I would be interested to hear any tips/advice on how other people get around it?
