You could try calling to find out; the process is straightforward. -----Original Message----- From: Blind-sysadmins <blind-sysadmins-bounces@lists.hodgsonfamily.org> On Behalf Of David Mehler Sent: Tuesday, April 10, 2018 10:41 To: Blind sysadmins list <blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org> Subject: Re: [Blind-sysadmins] activating win7 Hi Darren, How helpful are the MS techs? Should I call them or use be my eyes help section to contact? I'd ideally like this process to be as painless as possible. What do you use for future proof imaging? Thanks. Dave. Hi David
I believe the activation servers have been turned off so you cannot activate windows 7 anymore. Perhaps you could do it over the phone if you found a helpful Microsoft person. If you do manage to get it activated then it would be wise to immediately take an image this will future proof it if a reinstall is needed another time.
Darren.

Hello,
I've got probably a unique situation here.
I'm dealing with a guy who bought win7 home premium x64 with his custom built computer. During the free upgrade period to win10 he went for it. Now having issues he has reverted to 7 which essentially means a clean reinstall. His key which was formerly working now is not showing up as valid.
Does anyone have a fix?
Time sensitive.
Thanks. Dave.
