Glen, It's not all that easy to find the culprit to any kind of difficulty with accessibility. Example: I try to manage Cisco SG 300 switch on a windows 10 machine. When I use IE or Chrome browser, no luck, but when I work with Firefox, I can get the work done. Where should I submit my ticket in this situation? Cisco, Microsoft, JAWS or google? Talk about starting pointing fingers war... I was not bashing on JAWS or anything, just stated the obvious. My apologies if it did not sound right, English is my second language. I previously was on the JAWS list many years ago, but left that group because just anything I say, I would get bombarded; therefor, now on I am trying to stay neutral and not say anything about JAWS, NVDA etc. Isn't it a system admins list? We as admins manage many many different systems, makes and models and it is very nice to know what works and what doesn't. Thank you for all the work that you do and until this day, JAWS is still my primary screen reader. We try very hard to work equally well on all OSs from Windows 7 onwards. It's true that we're focusing on development for newer OSs because that's where things are changing most. But we do continue to test with older configurations as well. If your experience with newer versions of JAWS is unsatisfactory, it would be great to know about specific issues you're encountering. Reproducible problems are always much easier to fix. I'm always happy to directly hear, off-list, about specific problems you're facing to factor them in to the things we're working on. The more technical detail the better. I say that with the caveat that I am not part of our support team and can't make any promises to resolve your specific issue. --Glen Glen Gordon VFO | Vice President & Chief Technology Officer 11800 31st Court North, St. Petersburg, FL 33716 T 727-299-6230 ggordon@vfo-group.com www.vfo-group.com -----Original Message----- From: Blind-sysadmins [mailto:blind-sysadmins-bounces@lists.hodgsonfamily.org] On Behalf Of Anatoliy Shudrya Sent: Tuesday, May 23, 2017 11:09 AM To: Blind sysadmins list <blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org> Subject: Re: [Blind-sysadmins] JAWS 18 crashes more often than not on 32 bit I believe I previously downgraded JAWS version because the latest one was too much crashing. Sometimes they try to stay up with latest browsers but other OS components and apps are not stable with latest JFW versions. Jaws 18 and win 10, jaws 17 and win 7 etc. You might disagree, but it is the reality and I've notice it many times, once 18 is out, it's all focused-on win 10 and nothing else. -----Original Message----- From: Blind-sysadmins [mailto:blind-sysadmins-bounces@lists.hodgsonfamily.org] On Behalf Of Katherine M. I've noticed that JAWS 18 crashes all the time, hence causing me to miss calls; there is no rime or reason for this; it just happens. I have a few other things open, yet with my personal laptops, both running 64 bits, I don't have these same issues at all. It's only my aging work computer. My work device is an HP EliteBook 8300. My personal laptops are a dell Latitude E6540 and a latitude D630, and neither of them give me these issues. I'm curious what I can do to keep the crashes to a minimal level to ensure that my performance doesn't degrade further? Work device is running Windows 7 32 bit and my laptops run 10 enterprise. I run a couple of nonstandard things for between calls, though that's no different than anyone else around here. I've tried to isolate the problem to a particular application and I can't. _______________________________________________ Blind-sysadmins mailing list Blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org https://lists.hodgsonfamily.org/listinfo/blind-sysadmins _______________________________________________ Blind-sysadmins mailing list Blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org https://lists.hodgsonfamily.org/listinfo/blind-sysadmins _______________________________________________ Blind-sysadmins mailing list Blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org https://lists.hodgsonfamily.org/listinfo/blind-sysadmins
