Can you achieve what you need with cut, grep, tail, and the other, usual UNIX tools for processing text files? That's essentially how I used to examine log files. These days, however, most of them are in in the Systemd journal, which has its own command line interface, and hence there is less of a need to pipe the output to UNIX tools. As you said you planned to run the log server under Windows, there may be PowerShell commands you could explore for the same purpose. -----Original Message----- From: Steve Nutt <steve@comproom.co.uk> Sent: Friday, April 14, 2023 5:47 AM To: blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org Subject: [Blind-sysadmins] Syslog analyser software? Hi all, Does anyone know of an accessible syslog analysis tool for Windows? Draytek do a Syslog utility for their routers, but it is not accessible. However, I can tell the router to save to a Syslog Server, and give it an IP address. Thanks for any help.
