Hi, Any commercial antispam solution will be a subscription based service. The one I currently use is Alt-N's Protection Plus for Exchange, which is paid for on a software upgrade basis either for 1 or 2 years, however, the web interface is a bit difficult to use. The most accessible system I used (and probably the cheapest) is SpamTitan http://www.spamtitan.com, you install on your own hardware or a Vmware image. I used it at work for ages and it knocked spots off our previous Clearswift system. I did originally build my own system using Exim and SpamAssassin, however, this type of system is difficult for others to maintain unless they are interested in it, and also setting up a per-user quarantine is difficult. Also look at hosting services like Ryan suggested, we use Mimecast at work but the web interface is also a bit strange to use, there are plenty of others out there. If using SBS a lot of folks recommend the Calyptix UTM appliance which does email scanning, web scanning and AV scanning on other traffic. Never used personally. http://www.calyptix.com/ There are also other UTM appliances that do similar with varying price tags and functionality. Last but by no means least there is a paid-for antispam option built into Exchange 2007 SBS over and above the default antispam configuration called Forefront Security for Exchange. This is an installable option when installing SBS. If using an appliance in front of SBS, be aware that you need to disable SPF checking on the SBS server, as it can cause false positives - the SBS checker needs to be the first machine that receives the message. Thanks. Andrew. -----Original Message----- From: blind-sysadmins-bounces@lists.hodgsonfamily.org [mailto:blind-sysadmins-bounces@lists.hodgsonfamily.org] On Behalf Of Frank Ventura Sent: 18 October 2010 23:36 To: Blind sysadmins list Subject: [Blind-sysadmins] Blind friendly anti-spam device Hi all, canyone recommend a anti-spam device that can be put in front of our SBS/Exchange network that does not require a subscription and can be set up/maintained by a blind person (web interface?).
