Hi, One thing I forgot to add. We don't seem to have really any formal procedures within the IT Department at the moment. Over this coming year there are going to be huge changes, but it's all been pretty much on an ad-hok basis, with some hastily created spread sheets etc to keep track of things. This at times frustrating, but I remind myself joining such a young IT team can actually work to my advantage in some ways. I haven't had experience with this unfortunately. On a 2007 system I would give myself full mailbox access via the local console installed on my PC, then log in to OWA using my credentials, then change the URL to point to the other user mailbox, then set it in the options. You can't change the out of office directly in the console, but it may be an option in Systems Manager under 2003. We also have a product to do this for us with the helpdesk called Symprex out of office manager, which can be installed on the server or remotely, which makes this a lot more easier. It could be something like this that they are using. Do they have any procedures for this type of work? Thanks. The console is for Exchange 2007. I see there's a Exchange Systems Manager for 2003. Have you used this? Cheers, Barry. -----Original Message----- From: Blind-sysadmins [mailto:blind-sysadmins-bounces@lists.hodgsonfamily.org] On Behalf Of Darragh OHeiligh Sent: 13 December 2012 10:32 To: Blind sysadmins list Cc: Blind-sysadmins Subject: Re: [Blind-sysadmins] Connecting to Exchange Can you install the exchange console locally? I've saved these. The meeting hasn't taken place yet. I've just gotten a request to set a user's Out Of Office. How our Net Admin normally does this is RDP into Exchange. I don't' currently have any RDP licences for JAWS. Is there another way I can do this from my own computer? I'm trying to find a solution before I speak to my Manager. I'd rather bring him a solution than leave it in his hands to work out. I am being promised as soon as the Net Admin gets back I will be granted Administrator privileges. We do have Spiceworks installed on our servers, and I've found this article on how I can do it through there. http://community.spiceworks.com/how_to/show/1044-modify-outlook-exchange -out-of-office-reply-for-another-user How would the rest of you Sys Admins go about this?
