Hi, A DMM is only part of the answer when testing PSU's. It's true that you'll be able to test the various rails and check that they're more or less up to spec but you also want a way of putting the PSU under load to make sure that it still performs when a lot of current is being drawn. I bought myself a UT61E a few weeks ago which isn't accessible but does spit everything out over RS232. I'm building an accessible client for it in my spare time. Cheers, Ben. Hi Dave,
I would be interested as well if you find something. I don't need a multimeter often, but it could be handy from time to time. If I was just the average non-blind guy, I would pick up a cheap one at a local hardware store and be done with it. I know there are also blind hacker/hardware tinkerers who might know something, but I don't know where they hang out.

Hello, Is anyone using a talking multimeter? If so what do you think of it and what do you use it for?
I'm needing to get one, my primary use case is in testing pc power supplies to determine if they have died though I will probably find other uses in the future.
Access wise I use an android phone so if the talking multimeter has an app that would be a plus.
Any recommendations appreciated. Thanks. Dave. _______________________________________________ Blind-sysadmins mailing list -- blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org To unsubscribe send an email to blind-sysadmins-leave@lists.hodgsonfamily.org
