Hello, I'm wanting to do an android upgrade on my phone. I don't have a pair of eyes around for this task. I was wondering if it were possible to cast the screen to my tablet, also running android, and have the tablet's talkback version work with the phone upgrade? Thanks. Dave.
So far as I am aware, no. If it's a normal upgrade, the only part that should run without TalkBack available is the actual process of overwriting the firmware with the new version. If you need access to that (e.g., because you suspect it is going to fail), I suppose you could run OCR software on another device and capture a screen image with the camera. If it's something more complicated than a normal upgrade where you're interacting with the boot loader or other low-level functions, then I would suggest performing it with a helpful friend or colleague available who can guide you through the difficult parts. Disclaimer: it's about three years since I've worked significantly with an Android device. -----Original Message----- From: Blind-sysadmins [mailto:blind-sysadmins-bounces@lists.hodgsonfamily.org] On Behalf Of David Mehler Sent: Sunday, February 4, 2018 3:28 PM To: blind-sysadmins <blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org> Subject: [Blind-sysadmins] casting a phone to a tablet Hello, I'm wanting to do an android upgrade on my phone.
