Hey Darrel. Honestly, only what i know about jabber protocol is that miranda client supports it. I thought that jabber has its own global server where you get an account which you can use it like on skype/windows messenger. However, after research on google, i see that i was wrong and that its possible to setup its own xmpp server under domain. Maybe that would be an option but as i said earlier, i'm looking for a client which allows direct comunication between the computers if possible. How about Ventrilo. It is something we use as a VOIP software / Chat software for our CISCO training for the blind at Curtin Univeristy in Perth Australia.

Each user in our CISCO training has a user account with a user name and password controlled by the site administrator and when they log into the service as a client which provide a variety of rooms / office that are setup by the site administrator. We then communicate in real time one on one or via a class for information and we can provide feedback via chat.

We are using 100 seats for I believe 150 a year. We use WIndows and Mac accounts to access this service for our training program.
