You might want to take a look at Windows Storage Spaces: https://www.howtogeek.com/109380/how-to-use-windows-8s-storage-spaces-to-mir... I haven't used this feature myself yet but noticed it on my Windows 10 machine the other day. It looks like you just plug in the drives (internal or external) and then set it up via the control panel and so thought it might provide an accessible way to set up basic RAID functionality. It'd be interesting to find out whether the interface is accessible and compare it with hardware RAID from a performance perspective, but if you need to set up a basic RAID environment it might be worth investigating. Hi: Just to be fair, Windows Storage Spaces is not RAID. It does the same thing, and has similar configurations, but the underlying technology is different from RAID.
