Hey all, As the subject implies, I'm wondering if anyones found an accessible way of fixing the mbr on a xp drive? I have to fix a computer that was powered down incorrectly and I'm hoping that its just a case of the mbr becoming corrupted - its getting a no boot device message at the moment. I can fix the ntldr type errors by just replacing the files with the drive slaved to another box, but the only way I know of fixing the mbr is to run fixmbr which is meant to only be available in the recovery console. Does anyone have any creative solutions? I'm hoping that there is a way that I can run it within windows and get it to fix the slaved drive - I really don't want to have to do a reinstall. Thanks for any input and heres to hoping that it isn't a dead drive given the current prices. Cheers, Ben.
