Good cloning program
Hey all. I'm looking for a accessible windows cloning program which can clone my preconfigured system which i can restore at the later point if i mess up something. I worked with norton ghost and acronis true image server but they all need special restore cd with which i need sited assistance to restore the system. Any advices? Please don't start to talk about system restore because i'm alergic to it :D Thanks for the answers.
Hi, Does Acronis not allow you to restore from the Acronis console? I own a copy of this, but only got it for making a bootable CD which I could use. It did come with quite a comprehensive console, which I think did have an option for restoring the image, but not sure how it worked. One thing I used for a while was a live CD I made with Speakup, a copy of Samba and DD. I used DD to make the image of my hard drive partitions, and put them on the network. It was however very slow, and required an external synth. Andrew: How did you use the bootable CD? My company's thinking about moving from Norton Ghostcast to Acronis for imaging and deploying machines, and I'm trying to determine if Acronis might be any more accessible than Ghostcast. Hi, I cheated: I used the small amount of sight I have :). Seriously though, the Acronis interface is quite Windows like in the recovery CD, that includes tabbing around and using the alt key conbinations. I am able to get an image restored from the network just by using key strokes, even though the tabbing order is in some places a little odd. Thanks.
