I've installed Sccm 2016 build 1702 this week in a production environment. If someone would like to help me verify that I'm on the right path with this I'd appreciate your time. It's at least 5 years since I've used SCCM so I'm a bit shaky on some of the finer points of the implementation. However, I will need to Email Mark as the exceptional work done by that team needs to be recognised. It's not perfect. But it's usable! This is a huge step forward. I'm seriously seriously impressed. I hope Ryan and others in Microsoft pass this feedback along. I have had absolutely no accessibility issues during the installation of this server. The list of requirements before getting SCCM installed take some time to get through but with a little powershell it wasn't difficult. I'm delighted because this is going to revolutionize our environment. I'm even more delighted because I'm back in business! SCCM 2012 forced me out of this area. 2016 might just let me get my foot back in the door. Hello again Ryan, Some specific feedback is below. In order of priority: 1. The most important issue for me at the moment is I cant read the entire row in the tables. I can read the main column which is great. I can then use the jaws touch cursor to read the rest but it's hard to get context when reading tables with a lot of columns. For example, when I want to determine how many machines have received updates. I'd like to be able to arrow through this using left and right arrows. 2. I would like to be able to sort these tables. So that if I'm in a collection for example and I want to sort by Client, I can easily show what systems haven't had a client installed yet. 3. I tend to use the jaws touch cursor - driven by the keyboard quite a lot to read message text. The order that this information is presented is not obvious or consistent. 4. I'm unable to read the features list. Within the admin (ctrl+4) tab. 5. It isn't possible to tab into then read the wizard summary / wizard result messages when deploying updates / the agent etc. 6. I'm trying to get an idea of the state of client deployment. I can tell using the touch cursor that there are pi diagrams but I'd like to be able to determine what systems are left to get the client. I could probably create a query based collection to obtain this information. 7. Jaws isn't indicating that focus has changed when I move to different tabs using control + 1,2,3 and 4. 8. In context menus, the menu divider is a focusable element and jaws reads it. This isn't a huge problem, just a minor annoyance. 9. Control tab generally doesn't move between tabs in property pages. 10. During the installation of the client, the user is asked to opt into the user improvement program. The radio buttons for this are not in the tab order. Please feel free to share this with the SCCM development team. Hi: Does the latest sccm contain the win pe with narrator? -----Original Message----- From: Blind-sysadmins [mailto:blind-sysadmins-bounces@lists.hodgsonfamily.org] On Behalf Of Darragh Ó Héiligh Sent: Tuesday, July 18, 2017 4:56 AM To: Blind sysadmins list <blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org> Subject: Re: [Blind-sysadmins] SCCM, In case no one saw this Hello again Ryan, Some specific feedback is below. Was wondering the same thing. I understand minimal environments, but since PE is supposed to be modular anyway, Narrator is a perfect candidate for it. -----Original Message----- From: Blind-sysadmins [mailto:blind-sysadmins-bounces@lists.hodgsonfamily.org] On Behalf Of Kathryn Jedynak Sent: Tuesday, July 18, 2017 4:00 PM To: 'Blind sysadmins list' <blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org> Subject: Re: [Blind-sysadmins] SCCM, In case no one saw this Hi: Does the latest sccm contain the win pe with narrator? -----Original Message----- From: Blind-sysadmins [mailto:blind-sysadmins-bounces@lists.hodgsonfamily.org] On Behalf Of Darragh Ó Héiligh Sent: Tuesday, July 18, 2017 4:56 AM To: Blind sysadmins list <blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org> Subject: Re: [Blind-sysadmins] SCCM, In case no one saw this Hello again Ryan, Some specific feedback is below. Hi Darragh: As you installed in a production environment, I can understand that this may not be an option, but if you get a chance in a preview environment to move to build 1706, you'll find even more accessibility changes in that build, and the team would love to get your thoughts. Thanks. Hello Ryan, Unfortunately there's absolutely no chance. In the highly unlikely event I had the time to build a test environment, it would need to be at the same version as in production so that changes could be made on an exact replica. I also need to say that I'm sure you know how long it takes to get the server ready before SCCM can even be installed. There's SQL, WSUS, IIS, windows features, permissions to be set, service accounts to create, the AD schema to update, DNS record creation to check, KPI cert templates to create, certificates to be deployed, site roles and services to add then a whole lode of testing. I'd need a clone! Seriously! I'm going to spend a day documenting my work tomorrow. In preparation, I've created a table of contents to help guide what my objectives should be. That table of contents is a page and a half long! So, in short, I'd really love to test 1706 but it's unrealistic. That's why I have consistently asked for a test VM to be made available for this that MS can use to get our feedback on this kind of thing. I'd love to help. Maybe MS can get working on that clone idea?
