Hello, Is anyone running WSUS 2.0? I finally gave up on 3, accessibility wise it wasn't happening for me and no computers were working. Is anyone working with 2, if so can you write me? I'm trying to get computers to show up in the web interface. I've created a test group within the web interface and via a group policy set clientside targeting and assigned the machine i want to that group. I did a gpupdate /force and rebooted the client but it isn't showing up. Also, on the client when i go to start, windows update the Microsoft update page is displayed not mine, i've confirmed that firewall settings are not the cause of this. Should i also be going to http://servername/Selfupdate? Thanks. Dave.
I would not bother with WSUS 2; spend your time getting 3 working and you'll be happier in the long run. How often are your computers supposed to check in to WSUS? If it has not checked in, you can run wuauclt /detectnow to get the ball rolling. On Tue, November 18, 2008 15:44, Dave wrote:

Hi, I did that. The machines are not showing up, unless there's something special i have to do. I select all computers and i do not see any entries. Thanks. Hi, Firstly, not sure of the support policy for 2.x - I wouldn't recommend this for new deployments, and with 1.x they dropped the ability to download new updates, so I would be aware of this. 3.0 has been out for some time already. With the group policy, are you pointing the machines at http://wsusserver.domain.com for the WSUS and the statistics server? Going to Windows Update will go to Windows Update, not your WSUS server. Matt's advice is also helpful in regards to forcing clients to connect to the WSUS. However, you need to ensure the GP is correct. Don't try to point clients at the selfupdate stuff, most won't need it unless they are on Windows 2000 or an old XP pre SP2. Thanks. Andrew. -----Original Message----- From: Dave [mailto:dave.mehler@gmail.com] Sent: 18 November 2008 20:45 To: 'Blind sysadmins list' Subject: [Blind-sysadmins] WSUS 2.0 Hello, Is anyone running WSUS 2.0? I am following this thread with much interest. Installing some sort of automatic windows update process is on my list of projects for the near future. Is the problem a jaws access issue? have you tried satogo to see if system access might work? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dave" <dave.mehler@gmail.com> To: "'Blind sysadmins list'" <blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org> Sent: Tuesday, November 18, 2008 3:44 PM Subject: [Blind-sysadmins] WSUS 2.0

Hi, TBH I haven't had much issue using the JFW cursor to access the relevant parts of the system. The tab order does work quite well, even if you have to route cursors and then move around.
