What are y'all's terminal emulator of choice? SecureCRT seems to be the one to beat, or at least it's the sole commercial offering I've been exposed to. It's got some accessibility issues with NVDA, like not reading text when routing the cursor around. Vandyke software has an accessibility page that just points you to a 3rd party JAWS script and says have at it. Not owning JAWS puts me out of the loop there. What about the Mac and Linux versions? Do they work with VoiceOver or Orca? What about alternatives (preferably free ones)? I like how secureCRT organizes sessions into folders, stores passwords, and has tabs. The builtin TFTP server is also nice. Is there anything free that comes close to that feature set?
The mac terminal is ok. I use puTTY for SSH/telnet but prefer teraterm for configuring cisco equipment via serial on windows. Never used secure CRT. Kind regards, Kieran. On Thu, 24 May 2018 at 15:03, Samuel Barnes <samuellbarnes@gmail.com> wrote:

My preferred terminal under Windows is currently the one provided by MSYS2. I think the terminal in Windows Subsystem for Linux is very good, except that I haven't worked out how to copy/paste from/into the terminal. In both cases, ssh to remote systems works well. I find the Mac OS terminal difficult to navigate with VoiceOver using either speech or a braille display. At a basic level, it works however. Linux offers the best over-all experience in this regard. I've used both BRLTTY and Speakup, and I've also experimented with the new Fenrir screen reader for the Linux console. Another option that somewhat works is Gnome-Terminal with Orca. TeraTerm is OK, but it does have its faults and foibles. If I want to do anything serious on my in-house Linux system, I log in directly through the console and use Nano with Speakup. For general everyday stuff like user or file maintenance for my FTP server, TeraTerm suffices. On 5/28/2018 2:47 PM, Jason White via Blind-sysadmins wrote:
