MS mail verses Hosted exchange
Hi everyone, We are thinking of moving to Microsoft mail from our expensive hosted Exchange environment for Email. My non-profit has a free Office 365 business essentials account from Microsoft's donation program which comes with Email. Wondering if anyone using it for an organization or company finds it reliable? Mostly want it to sync with a smart phone and Outlook in a Windows environment. Thanks.
For what it’s worth I have a free outlook.com<http://outlook.com> address that I use with an office 365 account and it works decently. No reliability issues to speak of. You also might consider an exchange environment that’s unix based with open source tools. I spend $5 per month on a cloud hosted instance and run SoGo on top of my mail server and gets all the active sync features for my phones and such. The IredMail setup is very simple and can spin up SoGo as part of it’s install. Just another way to go but you should be ok with an office 365 account. I know of some big companies that have moved over. Others may have more related experience on a larger scale that’s more meaningful to you. Hope that helps.
