Asking for a friend, and he's not too technically and just got banned from a mailing list or two, not sure why, but they have a good reason, and cannot even remember what the mailing list or group. So he was asking, is there any server tools, that would him to unban him self from any servers. If this question, gets me banned, then fully accept and just my stupid fault, thought I did read the rules some where or maybe did google. Hope this is on topic. Thanks. There are no such tools. When people are banned from email lists, or forums, it is usually by their username, email address and possibly IP address. When band people try to sneak back on, they change one or all of those. But even then they might be recognised. Especially if engaging in the behaviour that got them banned in the first place. I'm really sorry that happened, Andrew. I don't think people either understand--& in many cases don't care--that those kinds of comments can jeopardize not only the existence of a great list, but also put the moderators/owners in jeopardy as well. As owner of a couple lists, I've had to deal w/that kind of situation on occasion, & it's never fun. Thanks for the work you do to make this list a nice place to get & receive professional advice.
