Belkin f9k1001 router and hard setting IP addresses
Hello, I've got this device it's running Belkin's latest firmware. I'm wanting to set up some static ranges, i've got some network devices that when they come up on the network i'd like for them always to get the same ip address and outside my dhcp pool. I have not found this feature, if anyone has this router please let me know. Thanks. Dave.
Typical home routers do not have the ability to have multiple DHCP scopes; it sounds like you want to have a scope for clients and then have another scope with reserved addresses. If you want to set the addresses manually, do it outside the scope you defined. On 5/11/2013 5:21 PM, David Mehler wrote:

Hi, Thanks. I am not sure on this router how to define a new scope outside the dhcp scope. Thanks. Dave. On 5/11/13, Matthew White <matt.bsa@wh1t3.net> wrote:

Hi, Admitidly not a very helpfull answer, but perhaps this is a rtfm type situation? As Matthew said, you don't really want 2 scopes; you just want to change / decrease the existing scope that DHCP uses. I do something similar at home; out of the box my router assigns 192.168.0.2/254 but I've set it to only use 192.168.0.10/254 inclusive which gives me room for 8 devices that need to have statics. Cheers, Ben. On 5/11/13, David Mehler <dave.mehler@gmail.com> wrote:

Hi Dave, Looking at the manual, it doesn't appear that this feature is supported. It is a fairly low end device, designed more for simple home use. I think your best course of action is to narrow down the DHCP range--say 25 IPs--more if necessary. Whatever is left over can be used for your devices with static IPs. Does this make sense? Matt On 5/12/2013 3:26 PM, George Bell wrote:
