Accessible softphone client for windows?
Hello, Which software are you using/recommending as a softphone client on Windows? I will use it for connecting my SIP account. I installed X-Lite, but it is not accessible at all. Thanks.
Hi, I used Phoner which is pretty accessible. www.phoner.de there is also phoner lite as well which i guess is accessible as well. its just a cut down version just containing the sip parts and the basic features. both programs are free. greetings, simon Am 01.04.2017 um 21:05 schrieb Can Kırca:

There’s MicroSIP (http://microsip.org <http://microsip.org/>). Most of the program works with NVDA. To get to the accounts dialog press CTRL+m, CTRL+p is preferences and ctrl+q quits the program. It doesn’t do Wideband Opus at 48K though. Blink for Mac is your best option for that, it seems… Bill

FSClient (https://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/FSClient) advertises its accessibility support directly on the wiki page. It uses Microsoft's User Interface Automation (UIA). It should support the Opus codec, as the underlying FreeSWITCH system does. Unfortunately, it lacks acoustic echo cancellation, so you'll need to use headphones with it. I don't know whether it is under active maintenance.
I tried exploring this. Binaries haven’t been updated in ages and I couldn’t get the source to compile. Underlying FreeSWITCH core too old for Opus and no mod_opus present. Bill

Interesting. The underlying FreeSWITCH can be used as a phone from the command line, which is how I run it on my Linux laptop. I expect the same can be done under Windows, but I haven't tried. If you're comfortable editing XML configuration files, then it's a good option.

Thanks to those WHO are reply my email. I installed Phoner. It is not totally accessible for basic users, but working. I'm really not sure which software will be complete solution for my team. It is not easy to answer incoming calls or hold current one. I can do that with Mouse, but not sure how will it work for my team :S 2017-04-02 18:15 GMT+03:00, Bill Dengler <codeofdusk@gmail.com>:

How hard is it to install Fusion on a VPS where one couldn't necessarily use the upload an iso install methods due to the web consoles not working with a screen reader? I'm thinking about blowing away the PBX in a flash install I have on there because it's getting old and starting to fail on incoming calls unless you reboot once in awhile, and I'd be at the turning point to either reinstall the latest one or use something else. I want to be able to do more with it where I'm stumped because of the firewall. I want to get Groundwire on my iPhone hooked up to it as well, but it appears that a lot of whitelisting of yet unknown domains or IP's is in order. I believe GW uses a middle server to hold your registration so if the app is closed that calls can still get in, and now with iOS 10, and I believe they have native call support, I could have calls come just like normal and be none the wiser that it's the voip line, except for the firewall would make sure I only know about them but can only hang up on them unless you could figure out the cell data ip range to whitelist that. Is the suggested port knocking idea even viable if you are going to be on cell data when away from home, as one wouldn't seem to be able to trigger it when the push for the incoming call comes? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bill Dengler" <codeofdusk@gmail.com> To: "Jason White" <jason@jasonjgw.net> Cc: "Blind sysadmins list" <blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org> Sent: Sunday, April 02, 2017 10:15 AM Subject: Re: [Blind-sysadmins] Accessible softphone client for windows?

I'm starting to agree. I don't know how one would get the cell data whitelisted through, as an iPhone wouldn't have port knocking available to automatically detect the IP changes and do its thing. I just couldn't imagine if someone ran a system with several people on it with their iPhones or whatever, as you would probably be forced to either get a static IP from the cell company or VPN all the traffic from those devices at all times where they need to be reachable where not located somewhere that is whitelisted. Ward's new thing is this Zivo system that seems more confusing, so maybe at the reinstall the ward ship might've sailed and gone now that I want to get the iPhone in the game now that things like Call Kit can make it seemlessly work like a normal cell call. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bill Dengler" <codeofdusk@gmail.com> To: "Blind sysadmins list" <blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org> Sent: Sunday, April 02, 2017 9:23 PM Subject: Re: [Blind-sysadmins] Accessible softphone client for windows?

Ward's new thing is this Zivo system that seems more confusing, so maybe at the reinstall the ward ship might've sailed and gone now that I want to get the iPhone in the game now that things like Call Kit can make it seemlessly work like a normal cell call.

Ward’s firewall scripts do more harm than good. It’s fairly straightforward, install Debian 8 and follow instructions at http://github.com/fusionpbx/fusionpbx-install.sh <http://github.com/fusionpbx/fusionpbx-install.sh> <http://github.com/fusionpbx/fusionpbx-install.sh <http://github.com/fusionpbx/fusionpbx-install.sh>>

----- Original Message ----- From: "Bill Dengler" <codeofdusk@gmail.com <mailto:codeofdusk@gmail.com><mailto:codeofdusk@gmail.com <mailto:codeofdusk@gmail.com>>> To: "Jason White" <jason@jasonjgw.net <mailto:jason@jasonjgw.net><mailto:jason@jasonjgw.net <mailto:jason@jasonjgw.net>>> Cc: "Blind sysadmins list" <blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org <mailto:blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org> <mailto:blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org <mailto:blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org>>> Sent: Sunday, April 02, 2017 10:15 AM Subject: Re: [Blind-sysadmins] Accessible softphone client for windows?
I use it, with http://fusionpbx.com <http://fusionpbx.com/><http://fusionpbx.com/ <http://fusionpbx.com/>> <http://fusionpbx.com/ <http://fusionpbx.com/><http://fusionpbx.com/ <http://fusionpbx.com/>>> as a PBX.

I tried exploring this. Binaries haven’t been updated in ages and I couldn’t get the source to compile. Underlying FreeSWITCH core too old for Opus and no mod_opus present.
Interesting. The underlying FreeSWITCH can be used as a phone from the command line, which is how I run it on my Linux laptop. I expect the same can be done under Windows, but I haven't tried.
If you're comfortable editing XML configuration files, then it's a good option.
