#wsusoffline for making #offline #installs of #Windows #Office updates
Hi, Tried this tonight and it's beautiful! You select the platform and architecture. It downloads the files and you can select to either make an ISO, a USB installer or just leave the files in the folder you execute the app from. Copy it to a DVD and run the update.exe under the client folder and away it goes. Dead handy to carry the updates around with you, especially when dealing with clients with slow computers/connections. If they dont' have the latest SP installed you'll need to manually reboot after this installs. However, once that's done you can temporarily allow it to auto reboot/recall and it flys through. What it actually does is creates a temporary Admin user account for this. If you are using any form of A11Y you can start this up once it logs in to the temp account to monitor the install progresses. Find this piece of magic at http://t.co/7kgHpYK6 #FTW Regards, Barry.
Dear sir, It is really excellent kind of program, very blind friendly, written by using Autoid scripting language, even by using Linux Basch scripts and by using Fget utility modified for Windows users. Developer even included The source code for his tool inside The archive. I AM dreaming that i theoretically would integrate those updates by using Nlite to The new XP autounattend .iso, but may be, that i can only dream about it. So excellent program, it is working reliably, all buttons are accessible by using TAB SHIFT+TAB and space. It is not necessary to use screen readers object navigation mechanishms or Jaws review cursor. . Lets believe, that Microsoft will not change The direct download links for updates, so this program will stay usable for A long period of time.
Dear friends, I have spended plemty of hours during triing to find The reliable free program for creating USB bootable Windows Xp installation flash drive. Does somebody of us find some free tool to perform this task? I have tried Pe to USB, special .cmd script, many tools available on Tech republic forum, but none of those tools worked for me. I have got error message, that hal.dll can not be find, and eventhough my harddrive have NTFS primary partition prepared, nothink worked. It is not possible to simply use syslinux on bootable USB to load setuplbr.bin from I386 folder. Sardu is using confusing approach, they included some part of WIndows XP PRO SP1 little .iso and after some time while initialising XP setup, i Am getting The message, that GRUB need to enter The password. Does somebody know about really functioning approach? Thank You for Yours answer. Yes, i can use some Windows XP live CD with special NTsetup program, which is capable to transferr installation files of XP to harddrive and after restart, it start to copy files from special folders on The harddrive. But unfortunattely, this approach worked for me only, when i have firstly formatted harddisk by using XP standard installer while booting from original XP installacion CD, when i have used no fast format to NTFS from Windows PE nevironment, when i written XP MBR code by using testdisk and when i have tried special NT installer from Windows PE, after system restart, The system could not be booted. It is really important to use bootable USB stick with Windows XP installer because of modern mini notebooks and netbooks. Any advice will be very welcomed. With kindness regards. Janusz Chmiel

Can i ask You for Yours experience? Does this utility work for You? Have created usable, bootable USB stick with Windows XP installation?
Hi, Unetbootin will do this; you'll need to use its commandline options. Note that you get no feedback if you've done something wrong or if you've done it correctly, so the best thing to do is to make sure that you're entering the right peramitors and once its running leave it for about 20 minutes and see if you see xp type files on the root of the destination. Or just buy a cheap USB optical drive; that would be much easier. Cheers, Ben. On 6/3/12, Mgr. Janusz Chmiel <chmiel@deep.cz> wrote:

Dear Mr Rose, Would You write to us which command line Unetbootin options should be used? You can use x: As a target drive letter. So it is not possible to simply select .iso image with Windows Xp from running Unetbootin? Thank You very much for Yours answer. Fortunately, Unetbootin developer is using some text comments to crucial objects, so NVDA log can advice those text assignment of objects to us. Good aspect of Unetbootin is, that it can prepare USB stick according to .iso image content automatically, so eventhough distributions list is not accessible for us, we can use it thank's to this behaviour.

Hi, Thanks for the link. I was wondering whether the Microsoft tool could be used to do this from an XP ISO? I have used it to burn Ubunto ISOs to USB as well as Windows 7 and Server images.
