NVDA also has a remote option that is free. It will have to be installed on both machines to work, obviously. It's not as good as RIM though, because it requires NVDA on both machines. RIM is screen reader agnostic. hello jacky and androw thanks for your reply first, rem is nice but 30 minutes daily mostly not enough in some cases, hopefully they give 15 hr per month for example and you're using it as your need without daily limitation. second, : nvda remote might be better / unlimited, but rem is easier for a friend or family member you try to support, just will type keywords, Any Availability to fixed default domain to only set key? Also, I remember someone here from years ago was suggested simple nvda for remote support using silent speech or similar to be sent specially for sighted people to control machines. any ideas will be nice to share please. thanks On Tue, Sep 24, 2024 at 1:09 AM Jason J.G. I can suggest a couple options with rim. First, if you are a member of the blind information technology specialist ACB group, you will get an extra 30 minutes a day from rim. The other thing is they do have a couple of different support packages that you could either buy a batch of Minutes That would be used in addition to the 30/60 minute a day option. Thank you kindly, /David Dictated and sent from my mobile phone. Hi, Mostly i use TeleNVDA with TeamViewer to connect to internal users. But people also can click on the NVDA icon on their desktop. This copy of NVDA is specially configured to load the profile from a network share. This copy connects directly to my machine which acts as a server. On the server machine you need to tell windows firewall to let nvda through. So TeamViewer is optional but sometimes handy. It lets sound through. You can also use a dyndns service to map your ip address to a host name which you can also add to your profile on machines you need to help. Hi, I forgot to add. TeleNVDA has a working relay server which you can use. So you can easily connect to your people without setting up the server and dyndns.
