Hi All, I'm considering taking the examinations for the MCSA SQL Server Certifications, I'm just wondering if anyone on the list here have done any of the Microsoft certifications and whether the exams are accessible to someone whose blind? I've been in touch with my local exam center but they weren't really to tell me much about the exams other than they were text passed! I'd appreciate any feedback. Thanks, Donnacha.
We have done some work with Pearson to support accessibility. Can you tell me the exact exam name/number you are interested in and I'll get back with details. How is we? I've taken some ms exams in the past and would love to hear about increased accessibility. My experience is that the microsoft exams are not accessible at all and that you need a reader and recorder / scribe to get you through. Best, Vincent. We have done some work with Pearson to support accessibility.
Can you tell me the exact exam name/number you are interested in and I'll get back with details.

Hi All,
I'm considering taking the examinations for the MCSA SQL Server Certifications, I'm just wondering if anyone on the list here have done any of the Microsoft certifications and whether the exams are accessible to someone whose blind?
I've been in touch with my local exam center but they weren't really to tell me much about the exams other than they were text passed!
I'd appreciate any feedback.
Thanks, Donnacha.

Hi all, I recently took the CISSP certification and accessibility was very basic and barely there. The test was like working with a big word document that had check boxes. Within the test I was unable to mark questions to return to for later, the remedy I was given was to open a notepad file and put question numbers in it. This also made figuring out questions that I might not have answered very hard to find. I was happy to have the small amount accessibility that was provided. I almost forgot, trying to keep track of time on the test was a nightmare because I was instructed to give up my watch and it was hard to get the time off the computer. I will be happy to speak with anyone regarding my experience. hm. I would like to hear anyone else's experience of taking IT cert exams too. For what it's worth, a while ago I tried to get Cisco CCNA via Pearson Vue. As a blind screen reader user, you can get double time and a reader. You can't take any technology, anything to write notes on independantly in. You can't go back to a question having skipped it. ThemMultiple part questions with diagrams and console output were the real sticking point. Regards Chris Turner On 30/03/2017 14:19, Greg B. wrote:

Hi Chris, Recently, I took the CISSP exam. My experience was the same as yours. I had to leave everything including my watch in a locker. The test was like working in a big word document that had textboxes, there was no way to mark a question or figure out if there were questions I did not answer. When I asked about marking questions I was told to open a notepad document and put the number in the document. I will be going back for another test soon but for now that is all we have. I did light them up on the survey, not that it will help much. Greg B.
