Re: [Blind-sysadmins] Any Accessible Way to do Cisco Router Simulation
GNS3 is supposed to be a great tool for this. -----Original Message----- From: Nehemiah Hall <nrh_lists@n-republic.net> Sent: Thursday, May 06, 2010 1:34 PM To: Blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org Subject: [Blind-sysadmins] Any Accessible Way to do Cisco Router Simulation I fear I know the answer to this, but I'd rather not assume. I'm working on my CCNA course, and am curious if there's any way at all to do router simulations of any sort without having a physical device. While I can use the devices at where I'm taking the class, there are times I want to try something without having to wait to go in and use them. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. I think it should also be mentioned that there is so much gear on the used market / Ebay you can buy real hardware for pennies on the dollar. All you need are some moderately powerful routers like some 2600S or 3800S (other variations are certainly possible) and maybe some mid range switches like the 3750. There's a guy who sells complete Cisco lab kits for very affordable prices although I can't recall the link right now I'll check through my notes and see if I can find a pointer. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Matt White" <matt@wh1t3.net> To: "Blind sysadmins list" <blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org> Sent: Thursday, May 06, 2010 5:17 PM Subject: Re: [Blind-sysadmins] Any Accessible Way to do Cisco Router Simulation GNS3 is supposed to be a great tool for this. That'd be awesome. And any other suggestions you have are quite welcome. :) I'll have a look on ebay myself, though I'll confess I've not used it much. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Scott Granados" <scott@granados-llc.net> To: "Blind sysadmins list" <blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org> Sent: Friday, May 07, 2010 09:17 Subject: Re: [Blind-sysadmins] Any Accessible Way to do Cisco RouterSimulation
