Greetings everyone, I am looking for a wireless survey tool to perform WI-FI survey, adjust AP signal and channels. Is there anything out there that is accessible? I have previously used net stumbler with windows XP but it's dated now and no longer works with latest OS. I am a windows guy, but might be open to build a Linux rig if there is something accessible for Fedora or Ubuntu. Can't find anything on IOS market as well. Any suggestions are welcome and much appreciated Anatoliy

Kismet on the Mac is a good option but you’re not a Mac guy. I suspect the Raspberry Pi would be another way to tackle this problem. Would be interested in others tools that they are using. Thanks

How about: WifiInfoView - WiFi Scanner for Windows 10/7/8/Vista http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/wifi_information_view.html WifiInfoView scans the wireless networks in your area and displays extensive information about them, including: Network Name (SSID), MAC Address, PHY Type (802.11g or 802.11n), RSSI, Signal Quality, Frequency, Channel Number, Maximum Speed, Company Name, Router Model and Router Name (Only for routers that provides this information), and more... When you select a wireless network in the upper pane of this tool, the lower pane displays the Wi-Fi information elements received from this device, in hexadecimal format. WifiInfoView also has a summary mode, which displays a summary of all detected wireless networks, grouped by channel number, company that manufactured the router, PHY type, or the maximum speed. Wow, that is wonderful Chris, thank you very much. It has everything I need and it works very good with JFW. I can't believe I did not know about this tool earlier. Scott, thanks for your suggestion on the MAC side. Let the wireless scanning begin!
