Good morning, What are you all using for remote access? As I've said here before, my company are currently using teamviewer but their not particularly happy with it. I tried RIM from serotek but I couldn't justify the cost of it. I'd love it to be accessible of course but I've given up on that. Here's what we need: · Fast access. · File transfers · Clipboard access · Remote sound would be great. · Support for windows 7 and 8 is escential. Any suggestions? Thanks Darragh
Hi, Have you given LogMeIn a go? The latest releases do support local audio. I rather like the LogMeIn Pro console, it gives you more options than just remote access. Hi, I didn't use TeamViewer. I am not a huge judge on access issues as I use magnification for some of the stuff, but for me it works fine. I wouldn't want to use it for server admin and for general day to day work, but for remote laptop work and also because we have POS machines out in the field, it works fab. As I say, the other thing it does is email you with alerts such as Windows Update failures, disk space alerts, etc. Andrew. ________________________________________ From: Blind-sysadmins [blind-sysadmins-bounces@lists.hodgsonfamily.org] on behalf of Barry Toner [Barry.Toner@clanmil.org.uk] Sent: 16 December 2013 11:03 To: Blind sysadmins list Subject: Re: [Blind-sysadmins] Remote access. Hi Andrew, How do you find passing screen reader commands, and how about alt tabbing away from the Log me In window back to the local Windows session? We're about to purchase teamviewer, but I know my Manager has mentioned Log Me In and this would be his preference. I might get a chance tomorrow evening at home to setup Log Me In, noway will get a chance to experiment in work. Cheers, Barry. Cheers, Barry. -----Original Message----- From: Blind-sysadmins [mailto:blind-sysadmins-bounces@lists.hodgsonfamily.org] On Behalf Of Andrew Hodgson Sent: 16 December 2013 11:15 To: Blind sysadmins list Subject: Re: [Blind-sysadmins] Remote access. Hi, I use LogMeIn Pro not Rescue, they are different products. Yes, I can pass the screen reader commands through ok. I do need to enable remote sounds in the settings though. For server administration, I do believe that the only solutions for us are RDP (with screen readers supporting the protocol on both sides of the connection; I use window-Eyes for this mostly), or PowerShell remoting, or SSH access. -----Original Message----- From: Blind-sysadmins [mailto:blind-sysadmins-bounces@lists.hodgsonfamily.org] On Behalf Of Andrew Hodgson Sent: Monday, December 16, 2013 6:15 AM To: Blind sysadmins list Subject: Re: [Blind-sysadmins] Remote access. I do not like LogMeIn as it is not usable at all with a screen reader for remote use.
