I think 1 of the easiest ways to create content is via a language called Markdown as opposed to using the WordPress toolbars (or any toolbars) for that matter. The syntax is easily learned. It can be enabled on your site via a plugin called Jetpack. You'll need to go to Jetpack settings, then debug, then modules & ensure the field for markdown is set to active. In Markdown, an url enclosed in angle brackets http://www.wordpress4newbs.com becomes a link, as does: [Adam P Markdown Cheatsheet](https://github.com/adam-p/markdown-here/wiki/Markdown-Here-Cheatsheet) where you can find a quick primer. wordpress4newbs.com contains some materials on using WordPress w/a screenreader.
