upgrading from vmware server2 to workstation
I'm thinking of giving vmware workstation a try because I've heard that jaws works well in a virtual machine if you have vmware workstation. I currently use the free product, server2. Jaws does not work well with a Windows virtual machine created with server2. Specifically, the jaws cursor doesn't work. I believe that's because the video intercept driver won't install. Anyway, here are my questions: 1. Has anyone used jaws in a virtual machine in vmware workstation? Does the jaws cursor work? 2. I believe I need to have either fedora or Red Hat, not debian, on my machine to use vmware workstation. Is that correct? 3. Can I backup my server2 virtual machines and then restore them after I've upgraded to workstation?
Hi, so I'm working on a new network project. I have a Foundry FI400 core with lots of access switches using spanning tree and a pretty standard setup. However, there are some ridiculously large ACLs applied to several of the interfaces. I'm looking for suggestions for ACL editors or management tools. I'm also open to process by hand if anyone has any suggestions. I'm having a hell of a time remembering 300+ lines though to edit properly. Thanks Scott
Hi, On the Cisco gear I have I make text files containing all the access lists, then manipulate that before sending it to the device. The only editors I have seen are the Java based ones. Not sure whether any of mine are that large however. Thanks. Wow, I was hoping there was a better method than that. I have good memory but that's a lot to process at one time. My biggest issue is the pre-existing ones are so broken. I'm tempted to just illiminate them all as I don't think this place can justify security of that magnetude. It's ridiculously over granular. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Andrew Hodgson" <andrew@hodgsonfamily.org> To: "Blind sysadmins list" <blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org> Sent: Saturday, June 06, 2009 3:12 AM Subject: Re: [Blind-sysadmins] ACL editing tool?
