Secure FTP server recommendation wanted
I used to use Serv-U, but its TLS support is deprecated because the old TLS 1.2 is deprecated. I tried Filezilla server because it's free, but it can't access NAS drives, which I'm loaded with. I was thinking about WS-FTP, but that's big money, over seven hundred dollars. The new version of Serv-U, while free, is not accessible. I thought maybe ProFTPD might work, but I can't find a Windows implementation of it, and I think they do offer one. Any recommendations or suggestions most welcome.
Hi. you could use VSFTP in linux? all the best, Mo. On 31/10/2015 15:07, Steve Matzura wrote:

Hi, There is of course also the IIS FTP server which can do FTP over TLS as well as FTPSSL. Doesn't do SCP though. Hi, FTP sites with virtual directories that point to other places on various drives. Windows credentials used to access the files, there is an anonymous mode as well that can use a defined set of credentials. Quite simple and very basic but does work well. This sounds interesting and worth trying. How is it set up and implemented? I've never used it before. _______________________________________________ Blind-sysadmins mailing list Blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org https://lists.hodgsonfamily.org/listinfo/blind-sysadmins

Ah, OK, that's not for me then. I have about 70, 80 users that poll me for various things and I don't particularly want to set them up as Windows users. I think I'll stick with VSFTP on the Pi. On Mon, 2 Nov 2015 16:02:41 +0000, you wrote:

I'm very seriously thinking of putting the whole server on a Raspberry Pi. Might be doing this today, in fact. I was going to use ProFTPD, but maybe VSFTP is better for this purpose? On Mon, 02 Nov 2015 14:13:15 +0000, you wrote:
