Accessible tool in Windows to recover Word files from flash storage
A colleague deleted some very important Word docson a flash drive and all of the top hits on Google turn of file recovery apps that seem very dodgey - and not at all accessible. Do y'all have a tool you would recommend for this task? Best, J Sent from my iPhone (and most likely transcribed by Siri)
Hi, First step is to make sure they don't plug the drive in. Second step is to image it using something like Flashnul (a command line imager) Then you can work on the image instead of the drive using something like Get Data Back. Fair warning though, the more the drive's been used since the files were deleted the less your chances. Cheers, Ben. On 5/12/22, Justin Romack <justin@herohousecreative.com> wrote:

https://www.lifewire.com/free-data-recovery-software-tools-2622893 I was hoping my favorite forensics program was still free for noncommercial use, but, alas, no. :(. On 5/11/22, Ben Mustill-Rose <ben@benmr.com> wrote:

Thank you! I ended up using Recuva and was able to retrieve the file.
