Hello, I've got probably a unique situation here. I'm dealing with a guy who bought win7 home premium x64 with his custom built computer. During the free upgrade period to win10 he went for it. Now having issues he has reverted to 7 which essentially means a clean reinstall. His key which was formerly working now is not showing up as valid. Does anyone have a fix? Time sensitive. Thanks. Dave.
Have you tried using their automated phone system? I saw someone else have this problem on the MS forum and they didn't say it can't be done On 10 April 2018 at 09:05, David Mehler <dave.mehler@gmail.com> wrote:

Hi David I believe the activation servers have been turned off so you cannot activate windows 7 anymore. Perhaps you could do it over the phone if you found a helpful Microsoft person. If you do manage to get it activated then it would be wise to immediately take an image this will future proof it if a reinstall is needed another time. Darren.
