downgrading windows 8.1 64 bit enterprise to windows 7 64 bit pro help
hi. a blind student doing programming from http://www.upskilled.edu.au and using jaws for windows from http://www.freedomscientific.com. I got a Toshiba satellite pro c-50-a in 2014, and had windows 7 pro 64 bit, and I upgraded to windows 8.1 64 bit enterprise through my lectuer. now they are going with windows 10, and he said he could not activate his windows 10 enterprise versions, at his school. so he sent me a windows 7 pro 64 bit, and have the key. and backed up all my data to an external hard disk. now when I run the dvd, and use jaws, it says to get the updates online. when I try this, it then gives me an error message, saying the installation files could not be found or installed. so have tried four or five times, even did a shutdown and reboot. did not fix that issue. so, it says not to not get the updates, and need them, so, is there a tool to downgrade from 64 bit enterprise to 64 bit windows 7 pro. can you help? marvin.
Hi, Unfortunately due to the upgrade you did to Windows 8 Enterprise the only way back now is to reinstall from scratch your Windows 7, then ensure that is activated then go forward to Windows 10. Did Windows 7 come with the Toshiba and was that Windows home or pro? Do you have a legit Windows 7 key? Did you have a recovery media with your Toshiba or did you create one, as that is probably the easiest way of getting back. The reason I say this is it is likely the key for the Toshiba is an OEM key and the media you have for Windows 7 may not be OEM media. Thanks. Andrew. ________________________________________ From: Blind-sysadmins [blind-sysadmins-bounces@lists.hodgsonfamily.org] on behalf of Marvin Hunkin [startrekcafe@gmail.com] Sent: 20 August 2015 11:50 To: Blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org Subject: [Blind-sysadmins] downgrading windows 8.1 64 bit enterprise to windows 7 64 bit pro help hi. a blind student doing programming from http://www.upskilled.edu.au and using jaws for windows from http://www.freedomscientific.com.
