Hi all, How accessible are those routers? I tried the web interface, but it is not that accessible. Many thanks, Christian
What sorts of issues do you have with them? I have one, and I find that while it's not intuitive, it is accessible. -----Original Message----- From: Blind-sysadmins <blind-sysadmins-bounces@lists.hodgsonfamily.org> On Behalf Of Christian Sent: Sunday, May 20, 2018 4:48 PM To: blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org Subject: [Blind-sysadmins] Ubiquiti routers Hi all, How accessible are those routers? Hi, The interface is usable, a bit awkward in places but pretty much usable. You can also use the CLI if you feel adventurous. There is also a fairly good iOS app (Unifi) that is fully accessible. What are you trying to do and what problems are you having? -----Original Message----- From: Blind-sysadmins <blind-sysadmins-bounces@lists.hodgsonfamily.org> On Behalf Of Katherine M. Hi, Actually, I do not have any of their routers at this time, was just looking at their latest models and they had an online demo of their user interface. It was not usable with IE and when I switched browser many of the links on the interface did not have descriptive text. Many thanks, Christian On 2018-05-21 at 02:45 matt.bsa@wh1t3.net wrote:

Do the Ubiquiti products have a fleshed out CLI? I currently have a Unifi AP handling my wifi at home, and the onboard shell is just a busybox environment with just enough there to get the AP adopted by the controller. I want to get a switch and USG router to complete the collection, but I really wish you could do everything via the command line. Greetings We set up a Ubiquiti access point and although the interface was rather busy, it was accessible. What we did notice is that we couldn't do anything until it did a firmware update. One would think that if the AP interface is useable the router one shouldn't be that much different. BTW, didn't use IE, we used Firefox. At one time IE didn't support ARIA until version 8 which got better since version 9. And as an aside, for the money we are very impressed with the Ubiquiti access point. If I needed extended Wi-Fi range at home, I would definitely go the AP route instead of configuring multiple routers managing SSIDS, channels, DHCP services etc. After doing this once in a two story single unit dwelling with three routers once, I figure that the cost of one AP isn't that much more than a couple of additional good quality routers and it is amazing the range that a Ubiquiti AP provides. if you're referring to the unifi products that use a controller for everything, the web interface is marginally accessible with NVDA in Chrome. I haven't tested it on other platforms very much. The Edge products look like they're all CLI based, so that shouldn't pose a problem. I just wish there were a controller-based system that could be configured from a single command line. I ask again. Is it inaccessible, or unintuitive? As an admin of many projects, I'm starting to realize the huge difference. Makes me often complain less, believe me. I find the controller very accessible with Chrome; in fact, that the only browser that Ubiquiti actually supports. The controls are for some reason not read along with their text, but once you actually realize that, you will happily find that everything is keyboard-activated regardless of feedback. -----Original Message----- From: Blind-sysadmins [mailto:blind-sysadmins-bounces@lists.hodgsonfamily.org] On Behalf Of Samuel Barnes Sent: Thursday, May 24, 2018 9:49 AM To: Blind sysadmins list <blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org> Subject: Re: [Blind-sysadmins] Ubiquiti routers if you're referring to the unifi products that use a controller for everything, the web interface is marginally accessible with NVDA in Chrome.
