Greetings all, I'm in need to access the college linux machine remotly to, besides of other things, use the browser and other gui-programs. I would like to know if are there any way to do that, either from a linux or windows machine. In fact I know that probably from a windows one will not be possible, so from a linux one could be the solution. Any of you can give me a hand over here? Thanks -- Felipe Veiga Ramos

Being honest, mine feeling is the same. I really prefer use only CLI interface, both into the distribution or SSH-in it. But I'll need to use some things like browser to use the jupyter notebboks that will be used and some things like that, so, all I can do is try.. Hi, Or you tunnel the jupyter notebook through ssh so you can use it on your local machine. You also need to set up port forwarding so that the machine is remotely accessible. or use wsl2. Hi, Will write a guide how to deal with all of it. I will write one based on Ubuntu. Arch would need a little bit more work. Ubuntu can be installed over the windows store but i will show you the manual installation. So you can use much more recent distributions but it also will help for the future. and you can change the location where you want to put it. by default it installs on the c drive. Hi,# Yes juppyter works in the browser. but you need ubuntu or another linux to run it on. though you can also run that on windows. i guess there is a sage package also for windows. though running it on linux using wsl might be a better way. but maybe talking to your teacher/professor how they have done it might be a good idea. not that we are doing it the wrong way. *smile* I don't use jupyter myself. Hi, On the command line side you could use ssh to connect to a linux machine. works both on windows 10 and linux in all distributions.
