Hi all, Can i install Windows 10 as a blind person? The ISO has been downloaded with the creation tool yesterday evening. I suppose you just need to boot the DVD and then hitting ctrl+win+enter should come up with narrator talking? Greetings, Simon
Ctrl+Windows+Enter should enable Microsoft Narrator once the installation image is booted. From that point on, follow the prompts. I haven't tried this myself, but it is reputed to work as of 1709.
It does work. I've done it. The only problem I have is that being the only WinPE where Narrator works. -----Original Message----- From: Blind-sysadmins [mailto:blind-sysadmins-bounces@lists.hodgsonfamily.org] On Behalf Of Jason White via Blind-sysadmins Sent: Wednesday, February 07, 2018 10:55 AM To: blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org Cc: Jason White <jason@jasonjgw.net> Subject: Re: [Blind-sysadmins] Installing Windows 10 Ctrl+Windows+Enter should enable Microsoft Narrator once the installation image is booted. One limitation worth noting: there's no braille display support during installation. I've successfully installed Debian with a braille display, so this is one area in which Microsoft Windows still has room for improvement.
You can see how long it's been since I've plugged in my old Braille display ... Hi, Thought about that. *smile* no big issue. though annoying is how long pauses the microsoft voices have. i don't know if its narrator in general to be pretty slow or if its just the voices. Greetings, Simon Am 07.02.2018 um 20:12 schrieb Jason White via Blind-sysadmins:

Well, it's only the installation process - performed once only.

Hi, If you have the startup/boot order right, it should be no problem to start installation from DVD. I wish it would have some sort of sound notification when language selection screen pups up. With some manufactured PCs, Cortana starts talking right away, I haven't seen it on personal builds/re-installs. -----Original Message----- From: Blind-sysadmins [mailto:blind-sysadmins-bounces@lists.hodgsonfamily.org] On Behalf Of Eigeldinger Simon Sent: Wednesday, February 07, 2018 7:26 AM To: 'Blind sysadmins list' <blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org> Subject: [Blind-sysadmins] Installing Windows 10 Hi all, Can i install Windows 10 as a blind person?
