I use Emacs even on a Microsoft Windows system, and of course under Linux. Under Mac OS, TextMate seems to be a good option, but I haven't used it extensively, and it's primarily a text editor rather than an IDE, hence perhaps not suitable for your purposes. No, no -- that's good. Emacs has versions for Windows, Mac OSX, and Linux (of course). Now I have 2, Visual Studio Code and emacs. Good enough. I mean, if anybody has any other packages I should include in my documentation, let me kno, but I am good with what I've got.
