Hello, I've got a Dell Inspiron Desktop 64 bit running Windows 7 home Premium. It's got NVDA 2010.2 on it and it is several hundred miles away from me. That's the back story, bad news is this box is having a problem that I need to remote to to correct. I'm wondering if I can do this NVDA to NVDA also any machine I would use from this end is only 32 bit. Some urgency! I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks. Dave.
I don't know the answer but you might have more success asking on the nvda list. The address is nvda@freelists.org so I assume to subscribe you'd send to nvda-subscribe@freelists.org. Its a very active list and some of the developers are on it. ----- Original Message ----- From: "David Mehler" <dave.mehler@gmail.com> To: "blind-sysadmins" <blind-sysadmins@lists.hodgsonfamily.org> Sent: Friday, August 12, 2011 2:23 PM Subject: [Blind-sysadmins] NVDA remote to windows 7

Does the desktop have remote desktop enabled? Will someone be able to forward the required ports? Failing that, you could try something like team viewer which from memory does nat traversal by connecting to a third party server. On 12/08/2011, David Mehler <dave.mehler@gmail.com> wrote:

Hi, Thanks for your replies. I've also asked that question on the NVDA list. I can forward any ports, well talk through what would need to be done. Team viewer, I tried it once, I couldn't get it to work, I got no output audio or display I couldn't navigate the desktop at all. This was across my lan, between two 32 bit xp pro machines. If this is workable i'd definitely like to know how. Thanks. Dave. On 8/12/11, Ben Mustill-Rose <bmustillrose@gmail.com> wrote:

Hi, I actually used that NVDA version in a test and couldn't remote in using Remote Desktop. If you can get the remote guy at the other end to enable remote audio streaming, it would work with very low speech quality, but can be used.
