The latest VMware version is supported is version 6.5, i thinking about to use proxmox. Questions: 1. how accessible is proxmox it self? 2. Hi, No, not that I know of. However, you could spin up a VM and just install the packages to get a feel of the web interface.

Greetings, Last I looked at the interface, you could do almost everything you need to to manage your VM's. The issue as always is that there is no way to really interact with the Vm using the remote interface. One way around this is building auto install images that will install and get a DHCP address and when you see it on the network then remote in with SSH or RDP depending on whether or not it is a Windows or Linux environment. For Linux, I have used FAI for creating the ISO's. For Windows, build an unattend.xml. I hope this helps. Billy L. Hi, For many lightweight things Proxmox can run LXC containers. These are easy to set up because they are based on a template and after starting them you can always get a root shell by running pct enter on the CLI. For full Linux VMs I rwould recommend you get a cloud image for your favorite distro/distros which support cloudinit.Most mainstream distributions offer this and then you can set many parameters or even execute commands on first boot by providing a cloudinit YAML file. Proxmox wiki has some information about this and there is lots of other documentation about Cloudinit since it is used by most VM providers. For Windows I would recommend enabling the SPICE console. Also search the Proxmox wiki for the required hardware and settings. Then you can just start a Windows isntall with audio and press ctrl+win+enter to start Narrator. After installation I would recommend using RDP to access your machine. Either with JAWS with RDP support or NVDA and the free RdAccess. Since those RDP solutions don’t send raw audio over the network for speech, but just the text to be spoiken, performance is much better, especially when accessing your VMs remotely from a slower connection.
