Hello, I'm in the market for portable power. I am looking for recommendations for products that people have bought, used, and liked, and why you like them. The first is a portable power bank. My goal is portability, but the biggest battery I can find. I've read about several, I don't mind if it looks like a brick, if it can go in a laptop bag it can go with me, but it's got to have a big battery, be able to handle multiple devices if needed, and would be nice if it would support quick charge/fast charge. The second item I'm looking for is a wireless fast charging pad. I've seen a few of them, ones by Choetech but they don't have the charger with them and some of them are not even fast charging, they're just wireless. Any recommendations appreciated. Thanks. Dave.
To add to this, while I don’t have a good solution I’d like to expand the question to include alternate power methods like portable fuel cells or solar. I do have experience with some solar power sources but probably outside the budget if you’re going for portable batteries. I also have heard of work in fuel cells for small portable power but no personal experience, maybe someone else has some? Also other alternatives would be interesting to me if anyone has any ideas.

Hi, I like the Anker line of batteries; I'm using a 5200MA one at the minute but know there are larger ones available with multiple USB ports. They've served me well. Hope that helps, Kieran. On 30 September 2017 at 17:59, Scott Granados <scott@granados-llc.net> wrote:

Any of the Anker PowerCore products are excellent. I have two 20kMaH batteries. One, the older of the two, has two interesting features the new one does not have. One, there's a connector you can use to charge a laptop, along with the three USB connectors. Two, there's a display that tells anyone who can see it just how much charge is left in the battery. The older model is charged via wall wart while the newer model can charge off anything that's USB-connectable, including a computer or wall wart. On Sat, 30 Sep 2017 12:44:39 -0400, you wrote:

Hard to say, as I think that ability is more on the device side than the battery side. You can read about the new one I just got a couple months ago at https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00X5RV14Y/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Looks like the old one, which I've had for years, has fallen off my recent orders list. That's a helluva lot for 800 milliamp hours, when I got my 20k milliamp-hour device for $39.

Thanks. Do either of your Anker chargers have fast charge ability?

Two, there's a display that tells anyone who can see it just how much charge is left in the battery. The older model is charged via wall wart while the newer model can charge off anything that's USB-connectable, including a computer or wall wart.

Hello,
I'm in the market for portable power.
Thanks. Dave.

Then I confess to being an idiot for not seeing that! LOL! Thanks for the correction. I just might get one of those, even though I do like my two 20kmAh ones, it never hurts to have more power. And now I see why I thought it was only 800mAh. It was the way it was written. See your message below--"26th 800mah". On Sat, 14 Oct 2017 15:02:23 -0500, you wrote:

I’m not sure I need a battery pack so big you could power an ark welder.;) That’s very cool though.

Greetings I had an Anker battery case for my iPhone. It was great, however Apple decided not to support it after an update. Anker was good about replacing it which allowed me to have a power case for a few more iOS updates. I have since given up and use an external power bank. The first one I bought was a little known brand from The Source. It worked OK and was roughly the same size as an iPhone 6. The problem which I didn't think of at the time is that the USB ports are on the sides. This made it awkward when putting my iPhone and power bank into a belt pouch. Having the USB ports on the side made it difficult to plug in a USB cable and caused it to bend much more severely than I liked. I then found one that had the two USB ports on the top which works much better. Another option that I know nothing about is a power bank from Energrid Accessibility. I never heard of this company, but they do sent me updates from time to time. Whether or not they are an actual company or just some type of vaporware I cannot say. I must defer to someone else who might actually have used their products. According to their web site they have a power bank for $75.00 U. S. This is more than twice as much as I paid for power banks that have similar capacity. The tactile features along with audible or vibrating notifications are not worth the additional $40 to $50 U. S. for me. However who am I to judge? Here is the link to their site with product details. https://accessibility.energrid.us.com/products/energrid-vs150x-power-bank Vic Pereira Project Manager, Intra-Building Networks Real Property Projects | Networks and End-Users Branch Shared Services Canada | Government of Canada vic.pereira@ssc-spc.gc.ca | Tel: 204-781-5046 Gestionnaire de Projet, Réseau Intra-Immeubles Projets biens immobiliers | Direction générale des Réseaux et utilisateurs finaux Services partagés Canada | Gouvernement du Canada vic.pereira@ssc-spc.gc.ca | Tél: 204-781-5046
