Windows 7 terminal program or Mac?
Hi there, I have a new computer (my first win 7 netbook) and the fine folks at Microsoft no longer include hyperterm. Is there a good suggestion for a term program? Putty seems like it may work but maybe something more full featured? I need something where I can definitely send a break for password recovery. Any pointers would be appreciated. Thanks Scott
PuTTY is my go-to SSH/telnet client; it's free and has always done everything I needed it to do. Which netbook did you get? On Fri, July 15, 2011 11:09, Scott Granados wrote:

Have to agree with you. I forgot how good the serial support on putty was. Works great for rooting Cisco routers and the good ol password recovery process. (especially the working send break command and the much better terminal emulation) As someone mentioned, I'll probably try secure CRT because the jaws support is a bit better but man putty really saves the bacon in a pinch. As for the Netbook question... So I bought this great Asus EEE PC netbook deal. Dual core Atom processor, 1GB of memory bumped up to 4, nice 6 cell battery and very small / light. Grabbed it at Central Computers before I left California for $350 including tax. My friend George who participates on some of the mobile computing lists and the like turned me on to the Asus netbooks a while ago with the 1005 and 1008 series and I've been hooked since. Got that for the windows side and a new Macbook Pro 17 inch I7 for the heavy lifting. Very big Mac fan here. Had to turn in all my goodies when I left my last gig to relocate to Florida though so had a little shopping to do and replenished my gadget supply. -----Original Message----- From: Matthew White Sent: Friday, July 15, 2011 5:43 PM To: Blind sysadmins list Subject: Re: [Blind-sysadmins] Windows 7 terminal program or Mac? Hi, Use CRT it works with Jaws. I do not know about Window-Eyes. Right, the jfw script makes it pretty usable. Serial on the Mac would be nice. I need to check out ZTerm or what ever that package is called. -----Original Message----- From: Sean Murphy Sent: Friday, July 15, 2011 8:17 PM To: Blind sysadmins list Subject: Re: [Blind-sysadmins] Windows 7 terminal program or Mac?
