Hi all, A while ago a friend of mine posted something about a project of him, creating a solution to use nvda in a remote desktop environment. LAst week I was fortunate to have a look at the first results. I was given the task of running windows update on a windows 2008 server somewhere remote. With some instructions I was able to edit the registry and logging on to the machine. I've loaded nvda and from there everything went very smoothly. THe only configuration change in nvda I had to make was changing the synth to my personal local driven synth in stet of the e-speak which was running on the server. I've installed the updates and successfully rebooted the machine which came back up nice and working. As far as I know, braille is not yet supported in the remote situation. THought to let you all know this. ANy questions? Don't hesitate to ask me. All the best, Vincent.
Hi, You had to edit the registry on the W2k8 server? Was that to make the solution work? Hi, Let me clarify: We had to edit the registry at the (Windows XP) client to register the client side of the RDP data channel. This is also what other screerneaders do, but JAWS/Window-eyes have a utility to do this for you. I had prepared the server before the experiment with Vincent. I installed NVDA as usual and added the RDP synthesizer driver which provides the server side of the data channel. Bram On 13-1-2013 16:22, Andrew Hodgson wrote:
