Can I Restore a File?

O, boy, I was planning on deleting item 5, but instead I nuked item 1. I thought I had highlighted item 5 but then as I went in media management, it seemed to find its way back to the first item? As the woman inquired of whether I wanted to delete, I must have been confused among select-and-cancel? It nuked the wrong item, but since I mostly record Live News-Programming, I really would like it back. If you don't have something like a recycle bin, could I put the card in my Linux machine--and-run recovery software based on an ex2 or ex3 file system? Maybe 16months or so I have both a Plex-and-BPP, but as long as I just punch a record button, pause, and stop, I'm ok, but much of the navagation seems not at all intuitive! At times it reminds me of windows explorer, but worse. Next, I suppose there are no ways on the unit to re-arange titles, or really re-record a title? At times I am trying to switch over to recording on these units, but goophups like this are probably more errors than I've ever had on an open-reel machine in 43years. I think it would be more helpful to re-arange the prompting for deletions, so that maybe an involved title is mention nearer to the beginning, which would be lots easier to comprehend. That is the only reason I used the transfer software to creat folders. The difference here is that with the other machine it has to create these specific folders. Subject lines

Hi, Can I ask people to put meaningful subject lines in the emails when they send to the list, and to also change the subject line if the topic changes? I had several messages titled Plextalk over the last few days, and they were about several topics. I understand it is easy to just reply to the messages, and if you were involved in the conversation, then it is easy to keep track and just reply, but some people who weren't reading the original email may not know what is going on, and for those receiving the digest version, they will get a lot of topics marked the same with no clue about what they were about. Spreading the love, Andrew.

daisy and building titles on ptr2

Hi everybody. If someone use a ptr2 here, I have a question. I only no how the pocket handle the daisy markup and how the title look like after its build. As far as I no, the ptr2 does not have a build book function when you create titles on a flash cart. I no that with cd's that when you finilise the disk, the build process is also done in one step, but what wil happen then if you have a title on a cart that need to be build? I doubt that it wil build the title after you finish the recording each time.

I find the Pocket excellent for recording off the radio. My wife uses the PTR2, but I think the recordings are better on the pocket. PETER

I find the ability to change the bit-rate on the pocket very useful. If I am recording a programme which is in mono, then it's useful to drop down to 64 kbps which is adequate for that, leaving higher bit-rates for stereo. PETER
