I bought 2 of them. They were $50 each time. I think I got mine from IRTI. But surprisingly, it was the same price every place I sought for it. The one I have does not have a battery; the static is the hinge thing. But forgive me if I'm stepping on the discussion. recording problem

Hi. I've got a recording problem. When recording on my plextalk pocket I just get a second recorded when recording the first thing in a title. What can this be? Strange behaviour

I have a PTR2. Suddenly a couple of nights ago it started saying tone plus 6 over and over, with little sounds in between. I left it alone, and eventually it stopped, but since then this has recurred several times. When I tried to make a recording onto a blank disk it stopped recording and said there was a write error and to press cancel, which I did. Then came the tone plus 6 problem again, and I could do nothing to stop it. I shut down, which it took a long time to do, turned off the mains and let it rest a while. I then switched on the mains, turned the machine on, and it seems to now be ok. I wonder whether it had something to do with being overloaded in some way. I had both a CF card and a disk in the machine at the time. When I had shut down I removed the card and disk. Now I just have a disk in place, and it is playing that one ok, which is one of my talking books. Can anyone tell me what may have caused this problem? Wendy
