I followed all instructions from Clifford i.e. changing format to 4, accepting authorisation, etc, etc, and the book then downloaded to the SD card in the Plextalk Pocket but then I get the message "read error -2107 failed to prepare for playback". I did put the card in my PTX1 (I think it is - the big version) but it said the card was completely empty. Are there two Plextalk options on the list and I have missed seeing that? Don't know what else to try? To check the later, go to Audible.com and then to your library. At the beginning of the library are some combo boxes. One of those lets you select your preferred format. Make sure that is set to format 4. If it wasn't, change it to format 4 and then redownload your book. If that was all properly set, with your Plextalk connected to the computer, go to Audible Manager and to the Devices Menu and then go through the steps I outlined for authorizing and activating your Plextalk again. If those don't work, I'm not sure what to try next. Perhaps you can describe the steps you're taking and we can see where you might be making a misstep. Good luck. Hi, Cliff was good enough to send me detailed instructions on how to download from Audible to the Plextalk pocket. All went well and the book transferred to the SD card but I am now getting a message "failed to prepare for playback". Obviously I've done something stupid but don't know what and how to put it right. Any help for a damsel in distress, especially a real novice and idiot where technology is concerned.
Kind regards

I'll give it a try!
First, make sure that the book you've loaded into Audible Manager is in a format that the Plextalk can read. I believe the only format for the Plextalk is 4. Next, while in Audible Manager, make sure sounds are turned on. You can do this in the Edit menu under options.
I assume you'll be using a card reader to do the transfer or will you transfer directly to the Plextalk with the card installed?
Once you've got your book in the proper format in Audible Manager, you next need to authorize your Plextalk for reading Audible books. While your card is connected to the computer and Audible Manager is running, go to the Devices menu. Arrow down to "Add a Device and click on that. I believe that will take you to a page on the Audible.com web site where you can arrow
down until you find the Plextalk devices option. Click on that and your card will receive the authorization file. Then back in Audible Manager, again in the Devices menu, arrow down to Activate Device and click on that. You'll get a form with your user name and password and you'll click to accept them. That should authorize and activate your card.
One last thing in te Device menu, go down to the transfer to item. It may not be named that exactly, but it's something close and make sure your Plextalk item is designated. All this set up should only need be done once unless you change devices or computers.
After all that, again while in Audible Manager, go to the frame which lists your books. Highlight the title and hit control plus T to start the transfer of the book to your card. It will play some gooney little tune and
give a ring tone once the transfer is complete. You're ready to close Audible and listen to your book. Remove it from the card reader and insert it in your Plextalk and find the "audio book" tab on the Plextalk and hit enter. Find your book and have at it.
I think I have the instructions fairly right. If you have trouble, let us know. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Home Mail" <vbrown620@virginmedia.com> To: "'Plextalk User Discussion List'" <plextalk@lists.hodgsonfamily.org> Sent: Saturday, February 28, 2015 2:30 PM Subject: [Plextalk] PLEXTALK AND AUDIBLE
I have downloaded a book into the Audible Manager and now want to put it onto an SD card so I can play in my Plextalk. Is this possible and, if so, can someone walk me through the necessary steps. I am an absolute novice so will need a lot of "hand holding"!
Many thanks.
Kind regards
