Hi, I believe that you can also use the y FI feature on your machine to transfer files if you wish to go that way. When making the connections, that is, your computer to the plextalk, and using the USB PORT, first thing I do is turn them both on. They both seem to like it much better this way. When you connect the plextalk, you should hear a connection sound, and if the speakers on the computer are on, you should hear a short sound on them also, that is windows. After this, the plextalk machine should act exactly like a extra drive. To copy files, you want to do what you normally would do if you were putting files on a thumb drive, make folders and such. While the plextalk is connected, it does not allow other functions, that returns when you take off the plextalk from the connection. It will ask you to wait and restart. For the other issue, you might get a card reader and just put files directly to the card. On Fri, 17 Aug 2012, Steve Richards wrote:
I am also having problems getting my PC to recognise the Plextalk Pocket. If I connect via the USB cable and then turn on the Pocket, it then says that Windows does not recognise the USB device,, or sometimes I have had an I/O error message. I have more success if I turn the Pocket on before connecting the cable, but I think this is contrary to the instructions.
My second issue is copying DAISY files from my PC to the 16 GB SD card while it is in the Pocket. It will do a few dozen files and then stop saying that there is an I/O error. I then have to copy and paste the remaining files, but it will invariably stop again further down the line and I have to again copy and paste and so on....
I am using Windows XP.
Any suggestions as to why I am struggling?
Thanks, Steve
