Wel, the ptx1 offer network functions wich the ptn2 don't, but furder they the same, and ptn2 have great sound and much more than ptn1, like tts, and a menu with settings to ajust. On 07/08/2013, Steve Richards <stephenrichards1951@tiscali.co.uk> wrote:
Hello Jamie,
That is just what I wanted. Thanks.
For many years I have been using the PTN1 on hire from RNIB. The battery life of these ageing machines drives me to distraction, lasting no longer than half an hour.
I was thinking that if I purchased a PTN2 plus a spare battery, I could swap
them over when one died, making sure that I always had a charged one to hand. Emma says that one can get a separate charger which would be beneficial.
I must confess, I do not know what the benefits or otherwise of the PTX1 over the PTN2 are. I have always liked the sound quality of the PTN1.
Many thanks as always.
Steve

Hi Steve,
Sorry for the delay, I've been checking up on this and here is the definitive answer:
1. The battery for the PTN2, the PTX1 and the Linio are all the same.
2. The battery for the PTR1 and the PTR2 are the same.
3. The battery for the Pocket and the Linio Pocket are the same.
Hope this is what you were looking for.
Regards,
Jamie

Thank you Emma for your kind response. I notice that you use the word assume', so can anyone else give a definitive answer? You can only charge it with the supplied adapter. You may however buy extra adapters or batteries separately if you wish. I would assume that the battery in the PTN2 is the same that is in the PTX1 or very similar since those two players are very close to each other in design.

I have been told that the battery for the PTN2 is the same as that used in the PTX1. Is this correct? Can I buy a separate charger, or is it only charged in the player? Thanks, Steve
