Those are what I was talking about when I mentioned the patch cords with the two plugs on each end, or, in some cases, two plugs on one end, and one mini or 3.5mm stereo plug on the other end. I have tons of those RCA patch cords. A phono plug just does one channel, so for every input or output you need two phono plugs. Sometimes they are known as RCA phono plugs, as they were originally used to connect a turntable to an amplifier, using a plug for the left channel and a plug for the right. Most tape decks have four of these, two for input and two for output.
